Antoine Griezmann, the 33-year-old French forward, is reportedly considering a move from Atlético Madrid to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Griezmann, under contract with Atlético until 2026, has been pivotal in their successes, including winning the Europa League and Supercopa de España.
PSG’s interest in Griezmann isn’t new. The French club previously attempted to sign him in 2016 and 2019, but Griezmann chose to stay with Atlético and later moved to Barcelona.
Recent reports suggest that PSG explored the possibility of acquiring Griezmann but were deterred by his salary demands.
Griezmann’s contract with Atlético reportedly includes a release clause of €15 million (some sources say it is €25 million), making a potential transfer financially feasible for interested clubs.
Despite this, no concrete offers have been made, and Griezmann has expressed contentment in Madrid.
In addition to PSG, Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, notably Los Angeles FC (LAFC), have shown interest in Griezmann. LAFC’s French forward, Olivier Giroud, confirmed that contacts have been made with Griezmann regarding a potential move.
Griezmann has previously expressed a desire to play in the MLS before concluding his career.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Griezmann faces a pivotal decision: remain a key figure at Atlético Madrid or embark on a new challenge with PSG or an MLS club. His choice will undoubtedly impact the dynamics of whichever team he joins.
