Reportedly, Inter Milan is vying with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to sign Bologna’s defender, Sam Beukema. Top European teams have taken notice of the 26-year-old Dutch center-back because of his strong showings in the Champions League and Serie A.
Transferring for €10 million in the summer of 2023 from AZ Alkmaar Beukema went to Bologna. His market value has grown steeply since then; projections show it has tripled. Though his popularity is increasing, Beukema still concentrates on his existing club. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, he said, “I am very pleased to play for this team and am concentrating on giving my best.
Especially if senior defenders like Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are approaching the end of their careers, Inter Milan is keen on strengthening their defense. The Nerazzurri have identified Beukema as a top goal thanks in part to his steady performances.
Still, there is stiff competition. Beukema has attracted attention from Real Madrid as well as from Atletico Madrid. According to reports, scouts from these Spanish behemoths have been watching his performance in Bologna matches.
Notwithstanding the rumors, Beukema has not made known her wish to depart Bologna. Regarding any possible transfer talks, Bologna is in a good position given his club contract runs till 2027. Though aware of the interest, the club’s management stays concentrated on preserving their foundation of defense.
Inter Milan, Real Madrid, or Atletico Madrid still have to be seen formally offering Beukema as the summer transfer window approaches. At present, the defender keeps on being important to Bologna’s campaign and helps them with European and national conquest.
