According to rumors, Manchester United is front-running to acquire Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund‘s winger, in the upcoming summer transfer window. Several top European sides have taken notice of the 23-year-old German international, but it seems the Red Devils are best placed to sign him.

Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund in May 2022. Signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.  Particularly in European contests, he has had a remarkable influence since his arrival. He scored his first Champions League goal for Dortmund in a 4-1 away win over Sevilla on October 5, 2022. His three goals in a 7–1 home defeat of Celtic on October 1, 2024, helped him further display his abilities.

Adeyemi has played in 15 Bundesliga 2024/2025 games, offering three assists andthree goals. With .33 expected assists (xA) per 90 minutes, he ranks in the top 94 percent of the league. His 1.47 key passes per game greatly help Dortmund’s attacking strategy.

Adeyemi has long been of interest to Manchester United. The team tried to acquire him in 2022, but instead, he chose a transfer to Dortmund. Thomas Solomon, his agent, verified this and said, “Manchester United desired to enter the race, but we want BVB.”

Chelsea has also shown interest in Adeyemi since they are trying to strengthen their attacking capabilities. Recent reports, however, indicate that Manchester United is currently leading the pursuit.

For Premier League teams, Adeyemi’s speed, dribbling ability, and range of play make him a very attractive target. His pressing tenacity and his capacity to play across the front four match Manchester United’s attacking vision. Where Adeyemi will carry his career still depends on the proximity of the summer transfer window.
