Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has come in to confirm that Renato Veiga, the 21-year-old Portugal international, wants six months. Sky Germany reported that Chelsea has claimed Veiga has only already been agreed to for a personal terms deal at Borussia Dortmund to play his favourite position as a centre-back, a position which has been lacking for Veiga at Chelsea. Veiga has played mainly as a left-back and occasionally as a central defender or central midfielder since joining Chelsea from FC Basel in July.

Sky Germany reported that Veiga has already agreed to go there to not personally get granted terms more permission with playing for Borussia Dortmund on loan and Romano confirmed he prefers the position. However, Chelsea is instead selling Veiga outright. The club has a reported price of €30 million that they are willing to accept for his sale, and he is wanted by Bournemouth, Juventus, Napoli, Stuttgart, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.Veiga has been in 18 games across all tournaments since joining Chelsea, and his only Premier League start was in September. The absence of opportunity for Veiga can be attributed to the presence of Marc Cucurella at the left-back position and Levi Colwill in the central defense. Although he has six and a half years on his contract, Veiga is determined to find a new club where he can thrive as a centre-back. Romano also said that Chelsea has received approaches from clubs in Italy, France, and also within the Premier League, which is making Veiga’s January exit highly likely.
